this is an old-ish article, but it hints on what i was arguing in an earlier post. “trolling”/4chan stuff is the closest approximation of a counterculture that has manifested in hyper technologized western society and it only exists on the internetz. HOW PO-MO! i’ve always been fascinated by the bizarre, contradictory morality and the near-nihilsitc flippant dismissal of damn near everything. like any historical counterculture, it has its own slang and code of ethics. it’s also infiltrated the mainstream via lolcats and other popularized memes. i lost my ipod…maybe it’s time to become an hero?
